What makes MiK more accurate is that it uses a database to check on keys where serato simply uses an algorithm. The downside is that you always need to be connected to the internet in order to use MiK. Imo, MiK isn't really worth it for that extra 10-15% accuracy and I stopped using it shortly after serato's key analysis, but MiK is definitely the most accurate out there: This is a little outdated, but it's a comparison of most of the big options: • • • • •. I don't use it. I've considered it a few times, but it really has some serious design flaws. For one, it's user guide is (essentially) 'try out some different settings and see what sounds best to you'. Anyone who's making audio software should know that transcoding/decoding a low bitrate file to a higher bitrate file for processing, then back to low bitrate is like making a photocopy of a photocopy. It doesn't matter if you put it through some special filters and try to enhance it, it's still not going to be as good as the original. The fact that PN even allows the user to do this is a big red flag. Pro software like iZotope RX allows a user to do this, but unaware new DJ's aren't using $1000 software that pro audio engineers are using to fix material; they're buying PN because it says it makes songs sound better in a single click. I've got iZotope RX and Ozone 7, and have created a PN preset based on the compressor/expander settings I've seen in screenshots. It's fine, but I wouldn't start processing all my tracks through it for no reason. Maybe, MAYBE, I'd process some older tracks with lower overall loudness.
